MineCade and the first BorderSMP
MineTrade started life as MineCade, run with the content creator Zyro, who owned the server back then. It was the first BorderSMP: instead of everyone sharing one world, every team got a Minecraft world of its own.
That sounds simple, and it's what makes it hard. A normal server keeps a handful of worlds loaded. A BorderSMP has to keep one per team, all on the same server, all ticking while their players are online.
- 350+
- Players online at once
- 250
- Team worlds loaded at the same time
- 20 TPS
- With all of them loaded
- 1
- Minecraft world per team, on one server

A core built for hundreds of worlds
We built MineCade on our own customized and optimized core, made for exactly this: creating, loading and ticking a world per team without the server falling over.
At its peak MineCade had 350+ players online, with 250 team worlds loaded at the same time, and it held 20 TPS. As far as we know, nobody has re-created that core since.

| Players online | 350 |

What happened next
MineCade carried on as MineTrade. We stepped away when we took a temporary break from Minecraft, and the server is no longer running.
